I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Rob’s wedding here in April. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the air was filled with joy and energy, and the love shared between them brought even more warmth to this idyllic countryside venue.

The Bride Lauren chose Mackeney Hall when she attended a friends wedding. "Our friends got married there a year or so before hand and we fell in love with the venue, we really liked the idea of getting married outdoors, we both love being in nature and find it calming." The outdoor ceremony space as this serene Derbyshire wedding venue really is something stunning and unique within its lush grounds.
But it's not just the venue that is special. Lauren expressed "The wedding co-ordinators at Makeney really do go above and beyond to ensure no stress, they were always on hand to contact if you’re unsure, we didn’t need to worry about the run down of the day or timings as they were really on the ball, every member of staff were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much of a problem."
Lauren picked their theme and styling based on the tones and style of Mackeney Hall Hotel. The neutral tones and classic mixed with modern interior aesthetic is such a beautiful setting, you could really dress it up or hire as a wedding venue with minimal decor and it remains a stunning setting.
How did you pick your theme and styling team? "Most of the decorations were based on a neutral colour palette which the venue complimented perfectly, we used Nice Love and Wishes to hire some extra bits and she kindly offered to set up on the day for us too."
Much of Lauren and Robs approach to choosing a Derby wedding venue and in fact it seemed their plan for their entire wedding day was based around having a completely peaceful and calm energy, absolutely key advice for any Bride-to-be.
What were you most anxious about and how did you overcome it? "We were most anxious for the ceremony, as a bride I would say chose bridesmaids that don’t bring drama and have a calming sense about them, put on a banging playlist and don’t focus on other people when you walk down the isle just hone in to smiling at your partner if you have a fear of being perceived!"

How important was photography to you? "We really wanted the day to be captured in a natural way and are naturally anxious people so it was importantly to use a photographer that captured candid moments"
"We loved Sasha’s photography as she really has a beautiful eye for detail, she gets those good angles girls haha! (there isn’t one photo she’s taken that we haven’t been 100% pleased with)
How did you feel about your wedding gallery from Sasha Pepper Photography? "Honestly blown away, I don’t have the words to describe how happy we are with the whole gallery."
